8 Lab Things

I am very sorry for last week's absence, it's quite a stressful time atm but here I am. And I just felt like sharing some things from the lab with the world. So here is a short list just to get a little insight in what is part of being a biology student in the lab.
1. Plants make great photo models. Perfect for photo shootings.
2. Most of the time, more than half the photos on my phone are to do with experiments.
3. When there is a "wild" insect in the lab, we catch it, try to identify it, possibly take some photos and release it back to where it belongs.
4. Every "BEEP" in the lab results in a mini shock of "Oh my! Is that my machine?! WHAT WENT WRONG?!"
5. Intervall lunching because you are at a busy step of your experiment and all the time you have to eat are the few 10 minute sequences in the centrifuge.
6. Accidentally taking home the insects you work with is actually not that unusual. Because they got stuck in your hair.
7. Sometimes, all you need is to sing Taylor Swift together while working in the lab.
8. That very unique feeling of vortexing a lot throughout the day.

Tut mir sehr leid, dass es letzte Woche keinen Post gab, es geht bei mir momentan ziemlich stressig zu sich. Aber hier bin ich mit einem neuen Post. Ich wollte mal einen kleinen Einblick in das Leben als Biologiestudentin im Labor geben.
1. Pflanzen sind ganz tolle Fotomodels. Perfekt für Fotoshootings.
2. Die meiste Zeit über sind die Hälfte der Fotos auf meinem Handys Fotos die was mit meinen Experimenten zu tun haben.
3. Wenn wir ein Insekt im Labor finden wird es direkt eingefangen, wir versuche es zu bestimmen und manchmal werden auch noch ein paar Fotos gemacht bevor es wieder in die Wildnis entlassen wird.
4. Wenn es auf einmal "BEEP" im Labor macht, kommt auf einmal dieser Schreckmoment in dem man Angst hat, dass irgendwas mit dem Gerät das man gerade benutzt nicht richtig läuft.
5. Intervall-Mittagessen weil man gerade bei einem relativ zeitintensiven und durchgetimten Schritt ist bei dem man nur Zeit mehreren 10 minütigen Zentrifugen-Sequenzen Zeit zum essen findet.
6. Aus versehen Insekten aus'm Labor mit nach Hause nehmen. Weil sie zum Beispiel in den Haaren hängen bleiben.
7. Manchmal muss man einfach zusammen Taylor Swift beim pipettieren im Labor singen.
8. Diese einzigartige Gefühl, dass man vom vielen vorderen bekommt.
